At Spiller Architectural Ironmongery, we schedule ironmongery for a vast range of project sizes; from 1-2 doors in a domestic property, to 300 doors in a student halls and everything in between.

Our comprehensive ironmongery scheduling service ensures our clients can easily identify door by door what is required. Whether you are designing, quoting or installing the ironmongery to a building, our scheduling service will ensure that the ironmongery package is dealt with in a professional and efficient manner giving you peace of mind.

The schedules we create include hardware and ironmongery fit for the building and end user purpose, and importunately comply with current building regulations and standards.

When approaching a project, there are several elements to consider:

  1. Building use – Is it a commercial or domestic project? Is it open to public? Will there be high traffic areas?

  2. Building user – Consider the mobility of users? What happens in the building? For example, healthcare facilities may require very different ironmongery to a call centre office. Are the users likely to be heavy-handed? Is the ironmongery exposed to the elements?

  3. The style of building and ironmongery required – Is it a contemporary minimalist design? Is it traditional design? What finishes are needed? Are there any guidelines for the final look?

  4. Door Details – What are the door dimensions? Are they fire doors? What is the material and finish? Any glazing?

  5. Any Restrictions – Is it a listed building?

Using our expertise and knowledge of ironmongery; each door is looked at in turn, with the following method applied:

  • Hang the door – Use hinges or pivots?

  • Close the Door – Are overhead/concealed/Electromagnetic Door closers, or floor springs required?

  • Secure the door – Consider the latches, locks, cylinders, Master key suites etc, maybe even electric locking or access control?

  • Open the Door – Select a door handles/knob or pull handles

  • Protect the door – Does it need Push Plates, Kick Plates, Door edge Protection, Intumescent seals?

  • Dress the door – Signage and door identification

  • And finally, other items which may be useful – finger protection, door stops etc.

Spiller’s finished schedule allows the customer to be able to identify the different door types, and the quantities of ironmongery required, allowing for accurate pricing and supply.
